Brad's Story

Brad Feldhacker is a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Homes for Independent Living (HIL), a MyPath Company. He currently works second shift at Oriole a six bed CBRF in Green Bay serving adults with medical conditions. Brad has supported various homes during his time with HIL, and his commitment to learning and teamwork consistently stands out. His CSM, Dawn Ziemendorf, describes him as always eager to learn and willing to help wherever needed, even in new situations. Brad’s collaborative spirit makes him a valued member of the HIL team, and he’ll celebrate two years in January.

Brad shares, “If I had to sum up my job in one sentence, it’s this: I get to show up every day and be part of something that truly matters—bringing smiles along the way.” He works a seven-days-on, seven-days-off rotation, and knew HIL was the right fit when he returned from his first time off and was greeted by clients genuinely happy to see him. For Brad, that warm welcome confirmed this is more than just a job.

The best part of Brad’s day is seeing his clients happy, healthy, and living their best lives. Whether assisting with daily care, offering emotional support, or sharing a laugh, Brad values being a meaningful part of their story. He knows those daily interactions may be the highlight of his clients’ day, and he never takes that lightly.

Brad often tells others about the growth possibilities at HIL. With excellent training and support, anyone willing to ask questions and embrace challenges can find a rewarding career—even if they’re new to the field.

Some of Brad’s favorite moments are the quiet ones, like welcoming a nervous new client and seeing them laugh once they feel at home. These experiences remind him why he loves what he does.

Every day, Brad starts by greeting everyone—a routine that never loses its joy. He genuinely loves working at HIL, and the experience has reignited his passion for this field in ways he never expected. For that, he is deeply grateful.
