Brittany's Story
“Being an Owner means I am part of a company who wants to see individuals grow and work toward their accomplishments. There are so many people in this company that are supportive of each other.”
“The best part of my job is watching not only the clients but also staff grow as individuals and accomplish their goals.”
Homes for Independent Living (HIL), A MyPath Company is grateful to have Brittany as part of the team. When asked how she knew HIL was the right place for her, she said, “The moment I knew I found the right place was shortly after I started. My family and I got COVID-19. The flexibility and understanding that I had received was amazing. Also, the recognition that I had received after trying to help in any way that I could was comforting.”
Brittany learned about HIL in early 2022 while she was working for another company that did similar work. She decided to apply for a position and was thrilled when she was hired in May as a Scheduler for the North Central Wisconsin region.
Early on, Brittany had an opportunity to grow in her role, as another region needed assistance. She gladly accepted additional responsibilities and assisted the team for a short time. Soon after, Brittany gained more experience by fulfilling duties of the Employee Support Specialist position.
Brittany states, “I feel I have grown in the sense that I can react to stressful situations in a calm manor. When I first began helping another region with schedules, there was a moment what I felt overwhelmed. After talking with my supervisor, Bethany, she was able to reassure me that I can do it and she trusts me to follow through. That conversation has stuck with me and made me re-evaluate stressful situations.”
Brittany continues to show her desire to learn and grow and was promoted to the Client Services Manager for the North Central Wisconsin region. While working full time as the Client Services Manager Brittany also attends online college courses pursuing her college degree. Brittany has taken advantage of the Student Loan Paydown program offered by MyPath.
When asked, what is the one thing people should know about working for HIL Brittany stated, “How rewarding it is to work with the clients that we serve. Knowing that we make a difference in their lives and empowering them to be as independent as possible.”
One of Brittany’s favorite memories at HIL was an ESOP picnic event this past summer. She recalls how most of the clients engaged in activities and played in the water sprinkler. Everyone was happy and enjoyed themselves. It was a beautiful day.
Brittany’s wish is that people know more about the benefits of working for HIL and how the job can make you grow as a person. “Being an Owner means I am part of a company who wants to see individuals grow and work toward their accomplishments. There are so many people in this company that are supportive of each other.”
Brittany looks forward to the future and continuing to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. “The best part of my job is watching not only the clients but also staff grow as individuals and accomplish their goals.”
We look forward to Brittany’s continued growth in her new role as Client Services Manager!
