Cyndi's Story
"A good day is knowing the clients are happy and taken care of."
I think being an employee-owner is really special because I feel as though my opinion matters and I have success, not just for now but for the future also.
For the past 22 years, Cyndi has dedicated her career to serving others and 16 of those years have been with Homes for Independent Living (HIL), A MyPath Company. She has worked in various roles, including a Float Direct Support Professional and Direct Support Supervisor, a role she has held for the last 10 years. Cyndi displays great leadership and goes above and beyond to assist whenever she is needed. When asked what it takes to succeed here, she says, “I think dedication, flexibility, and adapting to change. Taking accountability when making mistakes, and an overall willingness to want to help people will set you on the right path for success.”
Cyndi has overseen multiple programs throughout her years at HIL and says her favorite part about caring for her clients is knowing that she’s making a positive difference in their lives and seeing their progress reflected through the work she is doing. Cyndi says, “Hearing from my clients’ families that they are satisfied with the care we provide, knowing their loved one is safe and taken care of feels good. I love watching their progress. I’ve had multiple clients who have flourished here, and it feels rewarding to be a part of that.”
Some of Cyndi’s favorite memories at HIL included Packer games, Brewers games, the zoo, and traveling with her clients. When asked what a good day looks like, Cyndi says, “A good day is knowing the clients are happy and taken care of. I don’t feel there’s ever a perfect day, but knowing my clients are cared for means the world to me.”
Cyndi says she is right where she is supposed to be as a MyPath employee-owner. “I think being an Owner is really special because I feel as though my opinion matters and I have success, not just for now but for the future also.”
